Kevin holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) at the University of Melbourne where he graduated in 1986. He has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants since 1990 and completed a Master of Taxation at University of Melbourne in 1995. In 2012 he achieved Fellow of Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and has over 31 years of taxation experience. He completed a Diploma of Financial Planning in 2016.
Early in his career, Kevin worked for several large accounting firms in Melbourne CBD including BDO, PKF and Ernst & Young. He has also worked in financial planning and worldwide superannuation while at Towers Perrin, a global consulting company specialising in human resources and financial services.
He moved to Myrtleford in 1997 to join Kantor and Associates, becoming partner in 2001 and self-managed super funds (SMSF) Auditor in 2016.
Kevin founded Paynter & Associates in January 2017 as principal, with a specially chosen team of accountants and administration staff to address the individual needs of our local area.
Melissa graduated from Monash University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and returned to her hometown of Myrtleford to work with Kevin in 2003. Melissa achieved her CPA in 2010 and is our specialist in MYOB AccountRight. With accounting packages turning to cloud based solutions, Melissa is also proficient in Xero, MYOB Essentials and Reckon. Melissa mainly works with primary producers, transport providers and service trades.
Andrew is Myrtleford born and bred, he received a Bachelor of Commerce from the Australian National University in 1991, gaining his CPA in 1999. He is a Self-Managed Superannuation Fund Specialist qualifying in 2015 and he became a SMSF Registered Auditor in 2016. Andrew has worked for Kevin since 2007 his background is in retail, manufacturing and primary production.
Kate received her Bachelor of Business (Professional Accountancy) from RMIT, graduating in 2012, she also has a Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting (2014) and a Diploma of Financial Planning from Kaplan where she graduated in 2015. Kate has worked for Paynter & Associates since 2019, growing up locally in Porepunkah. Her expertise includes Xero, MYOB, Reckon, Sage and BGL Simple Fund 360, having worked with small to medium businesses across many industries.
Hayley holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) at Charles Sturt University where she graduated in 2012. She commenced her traineeship at WHK (Now Crowe Horwath) in Albury in 2009 then came to work for Kevin for 12 months during 2012 until late 2013. After which she worked for Crowe Horwath Chinchilla in Queensland for two years before returning here in 2015. Hayley is another local growing up around Bright. She is experienced in Xero and a general all round number cruncher!
Our friendly administration staff consist of Elizabeth Leita, Jan Piazza and Jenny Paynter. They are your first port of call and happy to assist where possible.
Elizabeth manages Reception, Office accounts and Tax return lodgements.
Jan is also at reception and handles ASIC, bookkeeping, corporate payroll and accounting.
Jenny is the Office manager and responsible for ABN applications and GST management.
